International Photojournalism, documentary and travel photography
International Photojournalism, Documentary and Travel Photography
Designed for postgraduate students who wish to pursue a career in international photojournalism, documentary or travel photography, this course explores issues of photographic culture, image economies and visual representation and applies them through a series of practical assignments. The course is also designed to be accessible to professional photographers and photo educators studying through a hybrid of online and centre based study.

Entry Requirements
Students will be required to present a portfolio of photography and examples of written work to be discussed/assessed at interview, demonstrating suitability and aptitude for the course.

• BA (Hons) Photography, or
• BA/BSc (Hons) in any subject and two years professional experience in the industry, or
• BA/BSc (Hons) in a related subject with a major project in photography

Special consideration is given to applicants without the above qualifications but with relevant work/life experience. Applicants are encouraged to contact the University to arrange an interview.

Full-time

How is the course offered?
Students have the choice of basing their studies at one of two learning centres, one at Bolton/ UK, the other at Dalian/China. Those who choose Dalian have the option of completing parts of the course online. The course is delivered through a combination of weekly seminars, intensive workshops and online teaching reflecting communication methods used in the modern industry. The programme is supported by group discussions and individual tutorials.

The next course will start January 2008.
